QUIMERA FIRMWARE UPDATE
Units on version 1.0 can update directly. Presets, samples and other user data are preserved. See How to update below.
What's New in 1.1
Tracking Mode — three modes to match your instrument

To make pitch tracking respond faster, two modes tuned to specific ranges have been added. Press the green knob (HNX) on the TRACKER page to choose.
- FULL RANGE: Full range, polyphonic. Previous behavior.
- GTR FAST: New. Limits detection to the guitar range (E2 and up) and prioritizes response speed.
- MONO BASS: New. Monophonic mode for bass (E1 to E3), specialized for fast tracking of low notes.
The page shows each mode's detection range (RANGE), response speed (SPEED) and voice (VOICE).
Clean Route — choose where the clean signal joins

You can now choose from four points where the clean (dry) signal joins the synth path, so the clean signal can also go through the filter and FX. Press the green knob (DRY) on the LEVEL page to choose. When anything other than MIX is selected, the route name is shown in the center of the DRY knob on the LEVEL page.
- MIX: Joins at the final mix (previous behavior).
- FTR: Joins before the filter. The clean signal also goes through the filter and FX.
- FX: Joins before the FX. The clean signal also gets the effects.
- TRU: Goes straight to the output with no signal processing (analog through). The DRY knob has no effect.
MIDI enhancements

- Remote footswitch control via CC102: Switch presets from a MIDI switcher or sequencer without stepping on the unit. Value 0 bypasses, and 1 / 2 / 3 turn on the Left / Center / Right switch.
- Program Change without Bank Select: Presets can now be recalled from devices that do not send Bank Select. The preset in the specified slot is recalled to the footswitch that is currently on.
- OUT MODE (ALL / ROOT) for MIDI note output: Limit the MIDI output to root notes, independently of the HNX setting for the synth sound. With ROOT, only the root of each note is sent; notes judged to be harmonics are not sent. Set in UTIL > GLOBAL MIDI / LOCAL MIDI.
GLOBAL settings page (UTIL)

A page of unit-wide settings that do not depend on the preset has been added to UTIL (between LOCAL MIDI and ENCODER ASSIGN). The settings are saved automatically when you leave UTIL.
- BYP WET OUT (THRU / MUTE): When using both DRY OUT and OUT, the OUT jack can be fully muted while bypassed (previously the clean signal passed through).
- BANK SW (L+R / L+C / C+R): Change which pair of footswitches is pressed together to switch banks.
QUIMERA Librarian support
QUIMERA can now connect over USB to the dedicated "QUIMERA Librarian" app (released separately). Back up and manage presets and samples, mirror the unit's screen, and update the firmware from your computer.
- When connected over USB, the unit mounts as the "QUIMERA" drive as before.
- Eject the drive, or long-press the PRESET switch, to switch to librarian mode.
- Unplug the USB cable to return to normal operation.
See the QUIMERA Librarian manual for how to use the app.
Improvements and Fixes in 1.1
- Improved pitch detection accuracy.
- Fixed a freeze that could occur when the unit was left powered on for about 25 hours or more without an input signal.
- Fixed a freeze that could occur right after ejecting the USB drive.
- Fixed preset names that could be displayed incorrectly.
- Fixed MIDI CC34 (FILTER OPTION > CLIP) not responding.
- Fixed abnormal behavior that could occur when a silent WAV file was imported as a sample.
- Reduced noise when effects are on.
- Internal storage that was wrongly write-protected is now repaired automatically at startup.
- Other minor bug fixes and stability improvements.
How to Update
Download the .bin file and copy it to the unit over USB. It takes a few minutes, and user data such as presets and samples is preserved.
- Power on QUIMERA and connect it to the computer with a USB cable. The "QUIMERA" drive mounts.
- Open the FIRMWARE folder on the drive. If any files are left inside, delete them all.
- Copy the downloaded .bin file into the FIRMWARE folder.
- Wait for the copy to finish, then always eject the drive before unplugging the USB cable.
- Power off, and power on again with the USB cable unplugged.
- "UPDATING... DON'T UNPLUG" and a progress bar appear. Do not power off while this is shown. The screen may appear to pause a few times along the way; this is normal. The unit restarts automatically when done.
- The update is complete when the boot screen shows "VER. 1.1".
You can also update from QUIMERA Librarian.
